The WordPress integration allows RankYak to automatically publish articles directly to your WordPress website. Once connected, every new article can be posted on autopilot, no copy/pasting required.
There are two ways to set up the integration:
Using the official RankYak WordPress plugin (recommended)
Connecting manually using application passwords
Both methods work perfectly. Choose whichever fits your preference.
𧩠Method 1: Connect using the RankYak plugin (recommended)
1. Install the plugin
Go to your WordPress admin
Navigate to Plugins β Add Plugin
Search for RankYak
Install and click Activate
Alternatively, you can download the plugin file from the RankYak plugin page and upload it manually via the WordPress plugin uploader.
2. Connect your website
After activation:
You will be taken to the setup page
Click Connect RankYak
A popup will open where you select the website you want to connect
Confirm the connection
The plugin will automatically configure everything. RankYak can now publish articles directly to your WordPress site.
𧩠Method 2: Manual connection (without the plugin)
If you prefer not to use the plugin, you can connect WordPress manually.
In RankYak, go to Settings β Integrations
Click Connect next to WordPress
Choose Connect manually
Now generate an application password in WordPress:
In WordPress:
Go to Users β Profile
Scroll to Application Passwords
Enter a name (e.g., βRankYakβ)
Click Add New Application Password
Copy the generated password
In RankYak:
Paste the password into the Application Password field
The Site URL is prefilled, verify it's correct
Fill in your WordPress username (optionally found at the top of your Profile page)
Click Connect
RankYak will now be able to auto-publish to your site.
βοΈ Publishing articles as drafts
If you prefer to review articles before they go live, you can tell RankYak to publish them as drafts instead of publishing immediately.
To enable this:
Go to your project
Open Settings β Integrations
Next to your WordPress connection, click Edit settings
Enable Publish articles as draft
New articles will now appear in WordPress as draft posts, giving you time to review, edit, or add images before publishing.
π· Default categories & tags
In the same settings popup, you can choose:
Default categories
Default tags
These will be automatically applied to all new articles RankYak publishes.
β Removing the integration
If you no longer want to use the WordPress integration:
Go to Settings β Integrations
Click Disconnect next to WordPress
This stops auto-publishing immediately.
π― Summary
The WordPress integration allows RankYak to:
Automatically publish articles
Create drafts for manual review
Add categories and tags
Keep your SEO running on autopilot
You can connect using the plugin or set it up manually, whichever you prefer.
