The Shopify integration allows RankYak to automatically publish SEO articles directly to your Shopify store. Once connected, articles can be created and published to your blog on autopilot.

šŸ”— Connecting Shopify to RankYak

To start, go to your project, open Settings ā†’ Integrations, and click Connect next to Shopify.

Then follow the steps below.

You don't need any technical background to set up this connection, simply follow the steps.

1. Open Shopify settings

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin

  2. Click Settings in the bottom-left corner

2. Copy Shopify store URL and open Apps

  1. Copy your full .myshopify.com domain and paste this into RankYak

  2. Go to Apps

  3. Click Develop apps

3. Open the Dev Dashboard

  1. Click Build app in Dev Dashboard

4. Create a new app

  1. Click Create app

5. Enter app name

  1. Enter the name RankYak

  2. Click Create

6. Configure the app

  1. Scroll down to Access, and copy and paste the following Scopes:

    • read_online_store_pages,write_online_store_pages,read_content,write_content

  2. Copy and paste the following URL under Redirect URLs:

    • https://rankyak.com/app/auth/shopify/callback

  3. Click Release

These settings will make sure RankYak can connect to your shop and have the permissions to create new blog posts.

7. Release the app

Next you need to "release" the app, this will just make it available for you and RankYak to use.

  1. You don't have to fill in any details, just click Release

8. Copy credentials to RankYak

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Copy the Client ID and paste it into RankYak

  3. Copy the Secret and paste it into RankYak

9. Connect RankYak to Shopify

In RankYak:

  1. Make sure all fields are filled with the correct data

  2. Click Connect

This will open a new page where Shopify asks you to install the app you just created.

10. Install the app

Your Shopify admin will open, prompting to install the app you created:

  1. Click Install

If successful, you will be shown a confirmation and you can close that window. Back in RankYak you can configure the final settings, such as the blog to post to, who the author should be, and wether to publish the articles as a draft.

šŸš€ What happens after connecting

After the integration is active, RankYak can:

  • Automatically publish articles to your Shopify blog

  • Include SEO-optimized titles, content, and metadata

  • Keep your content plan running on autopilot

Your articles will now be created and published directly to your store without manual work.

āŒ Removing the integration

If you want to disconnect Shopify:

  1. Go to Settings ā†’ Integrations in RankYak

  2. Click Disconnect next to Shopify

This will stop RankYak from publishing new articles to your store. The custom app will stay installed in your store but won't do anything, you can safely uninstall it after disconnecting RankYak.
